Avida Custom Homes is a family-owned and operated luxury homebuilder with deep roots in craftsmanship, design, and innovation. Founded in the early 1990s by David and Rozie Samei, Avida was built on a shared passion for creating homes that are as beautiful as they are thoughtfully designed—homes that reflect the people who live in them.

David, a graduate of the University of Florida’s esteemed M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management, began his career in both commercial and residential construction after earning his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and obtaining his Florida General Contractor’s License. Rozie, with a background in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University and hands-on experience in her family’s construction business in Southern California, brought technical expertise and a refined design sensibility to the partnership. Together, they established Avida Custom Homes in Dallas, blending engineering precision with inspired design.

In 2016, their son Stephen joined the company, bringing a fresh perspective shaped by his education at The Episcopal School of Dallas and Southern Methodist University, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree and MBA. Stephen’s artistic eye, analytical mindset, and strong management skills have helped bridge generations, strengthening Avida’s ability to innovate while honoring its legacy.

For more than three decades, Avida Custom Homes has been recognized as one of the premier luxury residential builders in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with distinguished homes throughout Park Cities, Preston Hollow and surrounding neighborhoods. The company is known for creating family-friendly homes that also serve as elegant spaces for entertaining, often featuring open floor plans, seamless flow and modern, clean lines.

Avida’s design philosophy was shaped early on by Rozie’s vision. In 1992, the company introduced Plano’s first stucco-exterior residence at a time when brick and shingle dominated the landscape. That bold step helped define Avida’s core aesthetic—Mediterranean-inspired architecture with tile roofs, stucco exteriors, and timeless proportions—an influence that soon spread throughout the DFW area. Inspired by legendary architect Addison Mizner and his Mediterranean Revival designs, Avida continues to create homes that feel both luxurious and enduring.
